In August 2021, the sponsors of the mothers’ and fathers’ advice centers in the canton of St.Gallen founded the Advice center for parents East Association . The MVB East specialist office began operations on January 1, 2022.
We at the Advice center for parents East
- raise public awareness of the concerns of young children and families.
- promote the accessibility and accessibility of mothers’ and fathers’ advice centers in eastern Switzerland.
- design the public appearance of Advice center for parents in Eastern Switzerland.
- The mother and father advisors advise on medical and psychosocial issues.
- advise the sponsors of the mothers’ and fathers’ advice centers in eastern Switzerland on technical and structural issues.
- ensure the professionalization and continuous training of mother and father advisors.
- are contact persons for the mother and father advice centers, specialists, external institutions and organizations and promote their cooperation and networking.
- initiate quality assurance processes in mother and father counseling practice.
- work in interdisciplinary committees.
Frequently asked questions about our organization
In the canton of St.Gallen, counseling for mothers and fathers is regulated in the introductory law to the Civil Code. This stipulates that the political communities must ensure holistic child and youth welfare. This includes child and youth work, child and youth protection as well as child and youth counseling. Advice for mothers and fathers belongs to the latter category and is also part of the basic social advice offer in the canton of St.Gallen according to the social welfare law. The municipalities bear the full costs of offering counseling for mothers and fathers. This means that parents can take advantage of the advice free of charge.
The East Mothers and Fathers Advice Center is a non-profit association. The highest body is the annual general meeting.
The day-to-day business is managed by the association’s voluntary board of directors. This is made up of three people.

As a cantonal umbrella organization, we have set ourselves the goal of promoting the further development of mothers’ and fathers’ advice in the canton with joint strength and strengthening their position in the early childhood offerings.

We are a non-profit organization. This means that we do not pursue the goal of making the highest possible profits, but rather our focus is on professional advice and support for parents with small children between 0 and 5 years old. Nevertheless, the costs incurred must be covered.
Our eight sponsorship organizations provide the main income with their membership contributions. We also have a service agreement with the canton of St.Gallen.
